In this vase the inspiration to archaic models of ritual tripod vases is not limited only to the shape and the style of the decoration but it also involves the patina which takes on the coppery reddish-green hues typical of the bronze artifacts of the Shang and Zhou dynasties.
The presence of the wooden lid, surmounted by a carved jade finial, is quite common in this kind of archaistic production.
