A TURQUOISE-GLAZED CANDLESTICK

The long cylindrical stick with cup-shaped finial rising from the centre of the interior of a bowl with rounded walls and circular foot, the whole surface with a turquoise glaze.
The Duca di Martina Museum in Villa La Floridiana in Naples houses a wonderful collection of Chinese Art.
Created by Placido de Sangro (1829-1891) in the second half of the nineteenth century, it is certainly one of the most important in Italy and Europe, with outstanding examples of porcelain, cloisonné, bronzes and carvings, dating from Yuan to Qing dynasties.
