Qing dynasty, 18th century
23 cm high
Provenance: Naples, Villa della Floridiana, Museo Duca di Martina, Placido de Sangro (1829-1891) collection.

The bulbous body and the straight neck decorated in black enamel with a continuous floral meander on the turquoise ground.
The association of a black enamelled decoration with a low fired turquoise glaze has been experimented since the Yuan dynasty with the production of Cizhou-style ceramic pieces. It continued to be scarcely used also during the Ming dynasty, until its quality became finer during the reign of Kangxi.
