A PAIR OF ‘FAMILLE VERTE’ TEAPOTS AND COVERS

Standing on small cabriole legs, the two teapot with moulded walls, loop handle, curved spout and flattened domed cover with a globular finial, the decoration of the body with ‘bird and flowers’ compositions inside rectangular panels, the base, the neck and the rim of the cover with a geometric band of diagonal lines.
Similar teapots were in the collection of Augustus the Strong (1670-1733), now in the Porzellansammlung in Dresden (inv. PO 6331).
