A ‘FAMILLE VERTE’ CUP AND SAUCER

The interior of the saucer and the exterior of the walls of the cup decorated with pine trees, birds and huts, a leiwen band to the rim of both the pieces, the motifs painted in black, red, aubergine, green and gold.
The Duca di Martina Museum in Villa La Floridiana in Naples houses a wonderful collection of Chinese Art.
Created by Placido de Sangro (1829-1891) in the second half of the nineteenth century, it is certainly one of the most important in Italy and Europe, with outstanding examples of porcelain, cloisonné, bronzes and carvings, dating from Yuan to Qing dynasties.
