The round dish with a domed ring to the centre decorated with a composition of two small flowers surrounded by a band of stylized clouds, all around a floral scroll in black, red, yellow, green, white and blue enamels against a turquoise ground.
Cup stands similar to this were already produced during the Xuande reign, some of them bearing the emperor’s mark (see for example the two cup stands in the Palace Museum: Compendium of Collections in the Palace Museum. Enamels I, Beijing 2010, pp. 138-139). Later examples continue to show similar characteristics, such as shape, dimensions and floral decoration (see H. Brinker – A. Lutz, Chinesisches Cloisonné. Die Sammlung Pierre Uldry, Zürich 1985, nn. 81-82).
