The combination of a monochrome ground with compositions inside reserves of different shapes was already experimented during the Kangxi period, using for example the powder blue and ‘Famille Verte’ enamels, and also a brown glaze was produced in those same years. In the Yongzheng period, the widespread use of the enamels of the ‘Famille Rose’ brought new possibilities for the Chinese decorators also in the field of export porcelain.

The museum has also another similar vase (inv. 3757).
