This kind of cup had a great success in Europe already in the early eighteenth century, imitated by the Meissen factory around 1715 (Meißner Porzellan von 1710 bis zur Gegenwert, exhibition catalogue, Wien 1982, n. 3) and later by almost all the other European porcelain factories.
